Course Option Description
Why this course:
The knowledge and skills gained in Business Studies, and exposure to enterprise culture can help shape ‘creative, energetic and enterprising’ young people who will contribute to New Zealand’s economic future. Studying business enables students to appreciate the issues that challenge business in a rapidly changing world.
This subject leads directly to tertiary courses and is a valuable foundation for career pathways in finance, business, marketing, entrepreneurship, management, trade and politics.
Course information:
Students will gain knowledge, skills and experience to:
- Plan, take to market, review and then refine an innovative, sustainable business activity; analyse the activity and its success in the marketplace (group task)
- Develop a marketing plan for an existing business (group task)
- Analyse how and why New Zealand businesses operating in global markets make operational and strategic decisions in response to interacting internal and external factors
This is a UE-accredited course.
Prerequisites
Completion of Level 2 Business (7BUS) with a minimum of 10 credits OR completion of the 6C)M/6ECB with 10 credits OR entry at the discretion of the HoLA.
